What documents are needed to pick up the car?

To hire a car in Romania with Rentado, you need:

• ID card or passport available;
• Driving license valid, issued at least 12 months in advance;
• In the case of rentals by legal entities, other documents may be required (e.g. CUI, power of attorney, etc.).

Documents must be submitted in original - copies are not accepted.

What are the driving license requirements?

Your driving license must:

• To be valid for the entire rental period;
• Obtained at least 12 months ago;
• No restrictions or suspensions.

Driving licenses issued in the EU, UK, USA and other countries are accepted, depending on the Romanian legislation in force.

Do I need an international license?

For EU and EEA citizens, no international permit needed. Permits issued in EU countries are automatically recognized in Romania.

For non-EU nationals, it is recommended to have a International Permit (IDP) issued under the Vienna or Geneva Conventions.

Is there a minimum age for renting a car?

Yes. To rent a car with Rentado, the driver must have:

• Minimum 21 years;
• Driving license with minimum 1 year.

Is there a maximum age limit?

There is no strict limit but for drivers over 70, Rented reserves the right to request a medical certificate or to approve the rental depending on the customer's history and the type of car chosen.

Can I rent if I'm under 26?

Yes, but a young driver fee if you are under 23, depending on the category of vehicle. At Rentado we generally do NOT charge extra fees if you are over 21 and have had your license for more than 12 months.

Can I rent if I am over 69?

Yes. Rentado accepts clients of all ages as long as they present a valid license and have no legal contraindications. We do not charge additional fees for age.

Who can drive the car?

The rental is nominal - only the person named in the contract can drive the vehicle. However, Rentado offers a unique advantage: the second driver is FREE. It must be added to the contract and must meet the same age and license requirements.

What documents does an additional driver need?

Same set of documents as the holder:

• Identity card/passport;
• Valid driver's license with at least 12 months.

Can I just bring a copy of the documents?

No. All documents must be submitted in original. Copies (either paper or digital) not accepted as required by Romanian law.

How long do I need to have a license to rent?

You must have a valid driving license from minimum 12 months. We do not rent cars to novice or newly licensed drivers.

What do UK drivers need to know?

If you have a license issued in the United Kingdom (UK), you don't need a DVLA code to rent a car in Romania. Your license is recognized and accepted.

I forgot my license at home. What can I do?

Unfortunately, you cannot rent a car without your original driving license. Our recommendation is to reschedule your flight or ask for the document to be delivered, because without a valid license, the rental cannot be carried out.
